It looks like any of the 16 rib deep parabolic softboxes on the outside but it is how it setups that is different from any of them that I have seen. It has the collapsible umbrella style setup like the original EZ Pro softboxes. No more trying to place each rod into a speedring socket or snapping each rod individually into place like the Rotalux.
The Fotodioz collapsible beauty dishes were a joke because they used a Rotalux style setup and abandoned one of the key design features of their original collapsible softboxes that made them so popular. Nice to see them return to the EZ Pro setup. Now they just need to redesign their collapsible beauty dishes to make them more user friendly.
The only disadvantage I see to the Fotodiox parabolic is the ability to use a flash in a focus-able manner like the Cheetah Stand Ricebowl and Chopstick but you could probably figure out a way to mount and focus a small flash like a Godox AD200 or AD360.
One significant advantage with the Cheetah vision is the deflector plate. I have several of the Fotodiox EZ-Pro modifiers. They are great for the way they collapse and are easily setup. However, the plastic deflector plate that they offer is not easy to position and use.
On the other hand the Cheetah deflector plate is a snap.
