Up for sale is my 35L. I purchased this lens new from B&H back in 2009. Despite it's age, its very clean and I see no scuffs or marks on the glass. The lens body does show some superficial scuffs and signs of use. In using the lens, I noticed that the focal plane was not completely flat (so if I was shooting a wedding party in a straight line, one side of the group would be very slightly out of focus if my aperture was at say f/2 or wider). I sent it into CPS earlier this month to investigate, and they replaced the rear barrel assembly, calibrated the lens, and cleaned it (work order attached). The lens seems to be working great now. I recently moves to the newer version of this lens, so I am going to let this one go. Sale of the lens includes the front and rear caps, original hood (which is scuffed up but still works fine), original box, and lens pouch.

Looking to get $700 shipped & PayPaled (US ONLY). Please PM or email me with any questions!

Is the new version worth twice the price?

Honestly, no.

After getting it back from Canon I really considered keeping it because it works great and looks like new now that they replaced the whole bottom half of the lens and the focus ring rubber. The new version is definitely built better than this version, and is a bit sharper wide open, but this is still a fantastic lens (especially at this price).
