Hi,

when I turn off a Nissin flash and remove the batteries, is there power left in the condenser? If so, how do I discharge it?

Thanks

Potentially there can be depending on the circuit design. Just hold the test flash button for a few seconds.

I've opened a few speedlites without batteries, and some certainly hold the charge, as I took it on a few fingers/knuckles before. It's a good jolt for sure!

Very best,

That may not work for all Speedlites.

Within somebody's tear-down I seem to remember that on some units a pin-hole switch (only revealed on removing the outermost covers) had to be depressed before proceeding further. It would be best to have a specific service manual for the unit in question.
