A lovely scene and good composition - but I feel your contrasty is too strong. Maybe needs image blending or tonemapping?

I might have overdone the contrast a little Martin. I'm not too good at editing sometimes and I do have to go back and tweak my images now and then. I haven't a clue what blending and tonemapping is ߘ

I don't know what software you have, Phil, but if you have LR, it's easy peasy and you will get excellent results. See https://helpx.adobe.com …help/hdr-photo-merge.html (external link) LR yields very natural results from a contrasy scene like yours and it is very good at aligning hand-held bracketed shots.

Having said that, I use SNS-HDR to tonemap my images. (I have not yet tried image blending. It used to be difficult but I am told there are easy plugins now.) I used SNS-HDR (landscape preset) to process you Fliokr image.

Maybe just raising shadows a bit or pushing the contrast slider a bit to the left? I think it's close as is.
