Yes, the Galloway hills are worth more attention than the more crowded Munros further north. Thanks for restoring happy memories.

Somewhere up there is a loch in a loch (a lochan on an island in a loch). Have you seen it?

Loch Enoch's got something like that but I didn't get a good look at it this time around. I'll definitely be going back to sample more of the hills; I figured they'd all be like The Merrick - smooth, grass-covered and largely featureless - but I was very pleasantly surprised. It's going to a take a few days for my boots to dry out though :D

The annual spring ritual - the trees flower, I run around and try to get a photo. Here's a couple.

This is an outstanding shot. I don't usually like portrait format landscapes but the subject cries out for it in this instance.

Beautiful shot, I think I have camera envy. Seems very clean for ISO 1600, is that typical for this camera? And, I think I know the answer, but how do you like your 5DsR? I think that's the one without the aliasing deal, that must make for a sharper photo.

Thank you, Patrick. I love the resolution on 5DsR, I had to upgrade the PC before I get it. It is a memory killer lol
