Saw photographers sprinkled over the dunes both evenings I was out there, so popular place. The first shot is not a panorama, just a skinny crop. (the camera did try to turn the sand brown, the white sand kind of messes with the exposure) ![]() ![]() ![]() So is there anywhere in the west landscape wise that ISN'T crowded? I sold all my landscape gear just because I didn't use it anymore outta frustration with billions of people everywhere.

Can't wait for a BIG recession = less people = more sanity / cheaper hotels, BEST time to go out n hunt landscape photos! Nice work by the way! I think these are the very first white sands pics I've ever seen! Thanks for the comment. As far as crowded, White Sands wasn't bad, a few photographers (I could see tripods so I know) sprinkled about on the dunes, but pretty widely dispersed. Now Utah on the other hand... I was checking room rates in Moab for May, several hundred dollars per night. And a few of those well known locations, like Delicate Arch, are just jammed with photographers.

Well done. At first I thought it was snow; never knew this place existed.

I was there in '09 during the recession. Comfort Inn was around $90 a night... those were the days. Just wait for the next recession. It's going to make the last look like a joke, and then you'll practically have all of the nat parks to yourself!
