A strange way to serve coffee. Is this just a display of cups? Is there liquid in them?
These are the "Nespresso" pods. The coffee is inside them. You pop one of them into the machine, press a button, and voila! You have 2 ml of the bitter stuff

Did you start with a few and multiply them into a flock? No, I recently bought a whole box of them and just laid them out and shot them as is. Of course the result was boring as hell but Photoshop came to the rescue: I duplicated the background layer twice and moved each duplicated layer slightly, reduced opacity, changed blending modes, had a B&W conversion on one and what not.
