Well OK cold is all relative, isn't it? Taken on Pine Island, near Fort Myers/Cape Coral. Mostly normal Florida birds, but happy with my first couple of days here.

That Conowingo shot was really that close? Awesome shot. Everytime I had a chance to stop by Conowingo, the eagles all seemed to agree the far bank was the better place. :-(

I like the Florida shots, too. Florida is a wonderful idea right now. I am sitting here in New York City watching the "Bomb Cyclone" unleashes the blizzard on the area. Not a single bird in sight.

Enjoy your Florida stay. Take a lot of pictures.

Linh

Hi Linh , yes that storm is hitting home now with 140 km/hr winds. That eagle was about halfway across at Conowingo, but you're right most of the activity was in the far side.

Now that I put my glasses on and saw that you took the shot at 1000mm setting so it was not that close at all :-) . Excellent in-flight job with the 2x.

Thanks Linh. Yes I find that shooting at 1000 mm is a requirement at Conowingo. Still a fun place though I bet there were 10,000 gulls and 40-50 eagles fishing the day I was there.

Excellent series Ian. We missed the Osprey already can't wait for them to comeback here in Northwest. We have lots of their nest up here.
