Back in Nova Scotia we may see one or two or three or four osprey at a time. In Bokeelia, Florida, at the northern tip of Pine Island near Fort Myers/Cape Coral, there are MANY more osprey. And you can sure tell it's mating season! I bet there were 40 opsrey in the air at any given time, all swooping and calling, and trying to attract a mate. It was very cool. And there were so many with their fish dinners on tops of poles, it makes me wonder why they ever leave this area to go north, if indeed it is these ones that do.

Wow, your NS eagles will be jealous of you spending so much time with what I am sure is a rival! Great shooting as always, Ian, love the 2fers. See you also had a too close/wing clip problem at times, too.:-) Well done, sir!

Thanks Rog; yea they came pretty close, also had one come down right beside me on the golf course to grab some fluffy nesting material.

Haha the eagles hands down Bob, these osprey were more interested in mate finding and nest building.

Good for you, Ian. I wish we had them here; they are both east and west of us, but uncommon right where we are. Too many eagles, I suspect. Anyway, well done.

Thanks Al, I appreciate the comments. You know, you should visit down here some winter, you owe it to yourself! Have you ever? I know you'd love it.
