If you can address an issue you have, and the equipment seems like it is in good shape, then I would say yes. Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery

Jan 10, 2018 09:37 | #4 It really depends on the condition of all the items in question, but it sounds like it might be a good deal value wise. Is it a straight up trade of gear or do they want you to add cash on your end? I suggest going to FM to get an idea of recent prices for those items in similar condition. A 1DX can be anywhere from a little below $2,000 for one with some wear, up to around $2,500. The 300mm's are going for around $2,200, maybe $2,300, in good condition and the 1DsIII should be around $900 unless it's a real beater.

Jan 10, 2018 16:58 | #5 Whilst the 1DS3 is still a great camera by any standards it simply does not have the ISO/speed/AF capabilities of the 1DX. For my uses (Wildlife) this is critical so, much as I like the 1DS3, I could not recommend one in exchange for a 1DX - it just doesn't do the same jobs! However, if you like to work a little slower, in reasonable light, then the 1DS3 is still a great piece of kit. Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).

I personally wouldn't go through with this and would wait til I could buy the lens outright. The 1DS mkIII is older and doesn't have any warranty. The 1Dx is an improvement and newer. The question is if you want to backtrack to get the lens. Canon 5D mk IV
