Two picture's of male Cheetah's shortly after they brought down a young Wildebeest for breakfast.

Witnessing these scenes 'live' rammed home the message that the beautiful, seemingly tranquil Mara upon which animals appeared to lazily go about their daily business, was a very dangerous place.
After taking in the glorious sunrises and sunsets, the amazing scenery and the abundant wildlife, evidence for survival of the fittest was everywhere.

Both pics were taken handheld with a Canon 70-300 IS USM.

Good shooting. Great luck to see the Cheetahs in the Mara, much less feeding. Were there many Wildebeasts and Zebras, or were they mostly south in the Serengeti this time of year?

Thanks. There seemed to be a lot of Zebra but only a few smallish herds of Wildebeest, our Guide told us that some herds on the fringes of the Mara and Serengeti were around most of the time but the vast majority were in the Serengeti proper.
