Just a short footage of dragonflies in flight. I experimented with a new (to me) capture technique in this video - I set the lens to 24 mm, manuallly focused to just beyond MFD, enabled Steadyshot, dialed in an Av of f/5.6 - f/8 for a deeper DOF, and chased the insects with the hand held camera. The 10x slomo + Steadyshot smoothened out any hand holding shake. A couple of clips at the end were taken at 600 mm equiv., using a tripod/ball head.

Shooting info – filmed in natural habitat at Bued River, Northern Philippines, on January 14, 2018, Sony RX10 Mark IV, various exposure settings and focal lengths, manual exposure in available light, shot in 240 fps HFR, processed to 1920 x 800/23.976p (cinematic 2.4:1 aspect ratio)

Cheers,

Romy
