Does anyone have or know where I can get an actual size photo of a canon 100-400 is mk2?

It’s hard to use google because all the results are life size pics that are taken with a 100-400

I don't understand what you mean when you ask for an "actual size photo". . Any digital photo can be actual size, depending on how you print it or how you zoom out or in when viewing it on an electronic display.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I'm with Tom. Not quite sure what you are asking.

If you will
1. re-state your question
2. let people know what your intended use of the image will be

people can help you.

I don’t own a 100-400, but plan on getting one and I’m going on a trip next month, so I started planning the layout of my pelican case. I want to make sure I leave enough foam around the perimeter of the case to protect my lenses, but to do that I need to know exactly where the 100-400 will go. My goal is a minimum of 2 squares between the perimeter or lenses.

Yes, I can just print out any picture and scale it up or down, but I don’t know if it’s 1:1, I would think there would be product photos already scaled to 1:1 size.

If I look at the same “1:1” photo on my desktop monitor and my phone, you realize they’ll be different sizes, right? There are no electronically delivered “1:1” photos.

Look up the lens specs. Find the dimensions. Cut a piece of paper to match those dimensions.

There is no way you can get a life size photo. It's totally dependent on display device.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

I don't have a 100-400 but the best way to do it is by taking a photo of then lens next to a ruler. Then OP should be able to print 1:1

Or easier yet, just go to the specification page (external link) where someone has already measured it for you.

Photo of the lens on a 5D in a Lowepro BP 300 classic is that is of any help. The contents won't fit with the covers on the smaller lenses nor is there much room for anything else.

Backpack dimensions are 10.6 x 5.3 x 15.8 inches.

Why not store them with the hoods reversed? It would free up a lot of space.

Mostly what kills you is the width rather than the length. So having the hoods for the small lenses nearer the camera end of the 100-400 helps make things a bit tighter. There is stuff stuffed in the hood of the 100-400 too.

I will give it a try to see how it goes.

^this, and store the shorter lenses upright too, rather than laying down. Also, why have the lens pouches in the bag? Are you actually putting stuff in them?

A printed out photo wouldn't really be very helpful, even though it may seem to you like it would be. . What is helpful are actual measurements. . They are more helpful than being able to put a photo in a bag to see how it fits. . The measurements are also more helpful than cutting out a photo and using that as a template for cutting foam.

I just measured my 100-400mm v2 for you:

The length is precisely 8 inches, without the hood and without front or rear lens caps on, and with the zoom fully retracted.

The circumference of the barrel at the widest point is 11 3/4 inches. . Just do the math if you want to know what the diameter is.

The overall width of the lens, including the tripod foot, is 4 3/4 inches.

The tripod foot itself is 3 5/16 inches in overall length and 1 1/16 inches in overall width. The foot protrudes 1 1/16th of an inch from the barrel of the lens.

.

No, just trying not to lose them.
