Lucky me! Megan comes in every year since she's been in high school for her cheer photos. While she's away at college, she makes time over her winter break to stop by. Here's a couple from this year's session!

BTW- this girl is FULL of energy. Her shoots are like a shot of caffeine.

C&C always welcome!

Nice job on the pics. I'm sure she is extremely happy with them.

Nice! What kind of softbox or diffuser do you have? On the first pic, I see some very strong shadows around the neck and such. Not being a light expert, I am curious what softbox is used, or the 2 flashes from each side, reflectors, etc.

On the first shot, I wanted to create a "Spotlight" effect. I used a snoot, if I recall correctly, it worked better for me when I used it without the grid. I wanted a circle of light that would hit her, but leave the surroundings dark. In addition, there was a small (12 x 24?) stripbox behind her, on camera right. It was pointed at her back to give some separation.

The second shot was a 4x6 softbox from camera left, and a reflector on camera right. I probably didn't need such a large box for a headshot, but I was shooting some full length stuff too. Easier to not change anything.

I haven't shot with a snoot yet, cool, thanks!
