Hey all!

Any recommendations for an affordable, reliable wireless transmitter/receiver set for flash/strobes, that supports high-speed sync?

Thanks in advance for any help!:-)

I have the Yongnuo 622 TX set. Works great and not expensive.

Lots of choices, just depends. A lot of these triggering systems are built into the flashes, so it depends on what flashes you're using or plan to use.

If you only have one speedlight, and are mostly going to be buying a lighting system from scratch, I'd say go with Godox Xpro-N (external link) transmitter and an X1R-N (external link) receiver for the SB-700. You'll have remote power control, TTL, and HSS.

If you want a second light for cheap, you can add a $65 TT600 manual-only flash, which will give you remote power control and HSS as a radio slave If you want another TTL flash, you have a range of choices in the Godox system. If you want to add bigger lights, you can add bare bulb flashes and studio strobes. If you want to add Sony, Fuji, or MFT mirrorless gear, you just need a matching transmitter to use the same lights in TTL/HSS over radio.

The Yongnuo YN-622 system is great. But you can't mix Yongnuo's manual-only and TTL systems and still retain HSS/TTL. You don't get HSS with their manual-only gear, and they mostly only do speedlights. And they don't support cross-brand TTL switching or TTL/HSS with anything except Canon and Nikon.

But then, I'm a multi-system shooter and I've dumped my YN gear for Godox, having drunk the kool-aid. :)

I'm a woman. I shoot with a Fuji X100T, Panasonic GX-7, Canon 5DmkII, and 50D. flickr stream (external link)
