FOR SALE
Tokina calls this the Tokina AT-X Pro SD 11-16mm f/2.8 (IF) DX.

AT-X: Tokina's best lenses: "Advanced Technology - Extra."
Pro: One may switch between auto and manual focus simply by pushing the focus ring forward or back.
SD: Super-low Dispersion glass, just like Nikon's ED and Canon's UD.
IF: Internal Focusing. Nothing moves on the outside as you focus.

Very lightly used Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 for Canon APS-C. It will mount on a Canon FF body, and can be used without vignetting when set to 15-16mm.
13 elements in 11 groups. Two Super-Low Dispersion glass elements and two aspheric glass, multicoated.
Aperture has 9 blades, stopping down to f/22.
Min focus distance: 1 foot (0.3m), to achieve max reproduction 1:11.6.
3.5" x 3.3" Weights 19.3 oz, 547g

No cosmetic flaws, no optical flaws in glass, in excellent condition (virtually like new).

Two Aspheric Lens Elements Two Super-Low Dispersion Lens Elements.
Multi-Layer Coating

Includes lens hood (mostly stored at home, not carried/used), original Tokina lens cap (aftermarket front lens cap 'Design for Canon' pictured), rear cap, and Hoya Super-HMC UV filter

At the time of its launch, it was praised, "This Tokina 11-16mm is the world's fastest and sharpest ultrawide lens for small format digital cameras (Nikon DX and Canon 1.6x). Considering its bargain price of under $600, its the world's best ultrawide lens for digital SLRs." This lens will provide the APS-C shooter with a lens that, at 15mm, provides the same AOV as using the quite commonly conventionally used FL 24mm on FF body, while also offering ultra-ultrawide FL for creative purposes. It well complements kit lens zooms 18mm-NNmm and the premium fast f/2.8 17mm-NNmm zooms.

$300, includes shipping within USA. Paypal accepted, with no fees.

This is a great price! I have this lens and it's great for real estate, landscapes, and I've also done some astro photography with it. GLWS!

Stil available, send PM if interested in purchase.

BTW, another person wrote to me about compatability with APS-H body, so I checked

  • according to information posted by others on the web, with APS-H the lens can be used without vignetting to 12.5mm
  • according to my own mechanical assessment of Tokina 11-16mm, there is no lens element protruding rearward into the body past the lens mount itself
  • I fired a test shot with this lens set to 11mm on a 5D body, and there was no interference between the lens and the reflex mirror

I concur on the above (used extensively on my 1D MkIII)
