Hi

I sold my D800 and consider buying a replacement camera. I am seriously considering going with Nikon flagship camera as I like big heavey cameras. I am looking at my local Craig’slist and see couple of D3 for sale. One is in brand new condition with only around 3000 shutter clicks for around $900 which is less than what I sold my d800 but doesn’t come with original box but have charger and battery.

Mostly I shot prtraits and landscape. Should I go for D3 as D4 is still out of my budget and don’t need added features of D3s do should I buy D810.

Thanks for helping me out with my decision as I want to learn from your experience.

Regards, Pendu

I am also looking around at some D3 or D3s bodies. I am getting back into Photography and the prices of decent used bodies are good.

I have a feeling most are going to point to newer hardware these days. The D3 bodies may have gone end of life, which would be a factor in my decision. If I can't get it serviced and it breaks down... well then I just wasted 750-900 dollars?

I've been using one up till last week for sport and it is still great for the fast stuff. Unfortunately it had a accident and is with Nikon now, waiting for a report as to weather they can fix it or if it's now a door stop.

With what you shoot the D810 might be the way too go.
