Cousins.
Just like the title says, I’m simply looking for a little CC. Haven’t posted on here in quite a while, for CC. Mostly lurk and shoot/archive. POTN has helped me grow so much over the years. Never too old to learn though.
One light setup. Real quick! Walked in the garage and grabbed a c-stand, rolled down the grey backdrop, setup an XPLOR 600 in a PCB 47” octabox with both layers of diffusion. Pulled it a few feet away, ever so slightly camera left, boomed above on a 45. Put the kids on a stool a few feet from the bg, shot in TTL with FEC -1 2/3 stop. Took a custom WB reading off of a collapsible 20” lastolite grey card/reflector.
The light just seemed to wrap around them beautifully. I shot at f/8 with the 50 and did my best to get both of their faces the same distance away without actually posing them; but just suggesting they get close, cheeks together. That usually works and proved to work well here. I rattled off a series of stills while talking with them and bringing out a series of expressions. This candid one really spoke to me though. It probably took less than 2 mins total from the time they sat down until they were done and running back in the house to play.
Open to any aspect of CC pertaining to what I could’ve done better with the gear used; not what I have. I was going for speed, as kids are like celebrities - you only get a moment of their time before they’re gone.
