Luminar was updated today. Aurora should be updated on Feb 1. There are updates for both the Win and Mac versions.

Neither product is an Adobe replacement; however, they are both nice styling apps after you have done basic raw editing in Lr or ACR.

The drama continues over the Windows version. That drama is getting very old, very fast.

What drama are you talking about? (If you don't have time to elaborate, perhaps you could post a link to a forum, blog, etc.)

There really is no drama. On the day the Windows version was released there was a serious defect that caused Luminar to run extremely slow when used as a Plug-in. It was fixed within a day.

It is a fantastic product and likely one of the best editing tools I own. But with that said it is extremely immature. Luminar is the editing APP and Aurora the App for HDR - they are not combined as they should be. Also there is no "Library" type functionality, but it is scheduled to be out later last year (That does have a few people upset).

It is not "YET" a replacement for Lightroom, but Adobe should be very concerned as this one matures.

Scroll backwards over the past 6 months and you can decide about the Windows version drama. Many of the previous regulars, especially those on MacOS, gave up and stopped participating.

I was so pumped about the update but still no DAM.??. Thats one of the main reasons I bought Luminar.

Luminar, to me, is a watered down LR. I never use it (although did update it). The missing DAM is a deal breaker if it wants to compete. I'm on W10 and it's clunky to use, pulling sliders makes the image re-render.
