I'm sure some of the better photographers on this site, the ones with pit road access, will miss you dearly.

We need a tribute thread to the F1 Grid girls :-(

A Masculine perspective:- great shot - so much gorgeousness captured in one single frame! more, more more..... :p

A Feminine perspective:- are 'grid-girls' required to 'sell' the F1 motorsport spectacle? - If 'yes':- then it's sexist and If 'no', then they are dispensable.

Very political - possibly off-topic in a photo forum, but it will make all the F1 non-race photos 'extremely dull'

Anyone care to create an: If/Then/Else formula to justify grid-girls. That way it can be proved their presence is essential.

--- MY FORMULAIC TAKE on this 'hot-topic' ---

IF 'grid-girls' = 'scantily-clad', THEN 'grid-girls' = necessary, ELSE 'grid-girls' "unnecessary"

Your turn guys & gals......

Looks like the PC Dufi have put a few dozen women out of work, The F1 & other Dufi have buckled under, & the world
of racing is a less interesting place. It's like your favorite burger joint has stopped adding a strip of bacon. : (

Whoops - I've messed that up - all these years I thought it was "doofusses".

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Could someone please explain why these hot women won't be appearing anymore?

Or better, yet, post a link to a news article that explains the situation?

That'd save me the trouble of Googling it myself, and I'd rather read something that is suggested by someone who is familiar with the situation than just whatever happens to be at the top of the Google results.

Thank you.

Because companies have decided that using marketing that excludes/does not attract a portion of their potential audience isn't a good idea.

Personally I think getting rid of the girls is a mistake... they should have simply added an equal number of hot young men for the ladies to drool over.

I absolutely agree with you, Dan.

I think that we (mankind) should get back to doing things based on our most basic instincts, instead of basing what we do on what is deemed to be 'proper' and 'correct' and 'advanced'..

I just read that article, and it makes me so frustrated.

Things are changing everywhere, it seems. . And they are changing in a way that does not benefit me. . It's nice to be able to watch sports that I enjoy and also be able to get certain kinds of gratification at the same time. . Now these PC fools are trying to take that away from me. . Damn them!!!

As a woman shooting motorsports I have absolutely nothing against grid girls. They are a part of the racing world and they obviously love what they are doing, so why is it suddenly a bad thing? Because someone says so? Sigh...

Next on the PC agenda: "We need an equal number of male and female F1 drivers!"
