Backfocus with new Canon 85mm f/1.4L?

My new 85/1.4L just came in, and it back focuses a bit. It is noticeable when taking head shots and focusing on the eye, and I confirmed it with my Spyder LensCal. I had to dial in AF fine tune of -5, then it's pretty spot on. Did anybody else experience this with this lens? All my previous lenses did not need any fine tune.

Seems reasonable. This is pretty much the reason why Canon added microadjustment capabilities on their cameras.

-5 doesn’t seem like much at all if it’s now giving you spot on results.

Thank you! I was a bit worried that I needed to tune it, but it looks it's working good with that.

When the range is 40 ticks (20+/-) needing 5 doesn't seem like much. I have maybe 1 lens where the MFA stayed on 0. It would seem uncomfortable to need 19 or 20 but if that nails it then what would it matter.

which camera body are you using it with?
I rented the new 85mm and it was spot on. But all my lenses are spot on with 5div. Same lenses required various degree of AFMA on 6d.

Thank you all! Sorry for my delayed response, we were on a trip. My camera is a 5D3. Thank you for letting me know not to worry too much! So far the lens is working out ok with the AFMA of -5. I had dialed in this value after tests with my focus test tool. Interestingly, with real subjects that are close by (portraits), I see little difference in the focus results when I turn AFMA off entirely. But when the subject is farther away, then it shows that focus is spot on only with -5, and not with 0.
