Another thing worth mentioning in regards to fps & AF-C, this is lens dependent too. There's been a bit of grizzling by the geeky types, that the camera doesn't hit its advertised fps when using certain older lenses. One being the Panasonic Leica 25mm f/1.4. Personally, I hadn't noticed that one, but I do know that my PZ45-175 had an audibly slower frame rate, in the same shooting scenario/situation, than my Panasonic Leica 50-200 f/2.8-4.
I think it's something to do with the aperture diaphragm opening/closing speed, as the older 100-300 with its slower focus motor, displays the same symptoms and behaviour. As far as I'm aware, the mkII version of the 100-300 is fine. That's just the price of progress in my mind.
The odd Olympus lens on the G9 shows the same behaviour too
Just something to be aware of.

And in other news, I just picked up the very lovely Sigma 56mm f/1.4 for my G9. Oh my. It's very very nice. You REALLY have to be careful with your AF point placement at portrait distances. DOF really is pretty thin.
I haven't had a chance to use it properly as yet, as between ordering it, and the lens being delivered, I got hit by a ute, fracturing my hip. There's 2 months of my life down the drain, hopping around on crutches. Oh well, good incentive for a big effort in recovering :)

Take care and rest and recuperate, from one recovering from shingles, not over it yet! ;)

I went with Lexar 64GB Professional 1000x UHS-II U3 SDXC Memory Card, $29.99 each on sale at Adorama when I bought the G9

https://www.adorama.com/ilxsdkuh264.html (external link)

Did you decide to get a G9?

I got a Panasonic card - not sure of details .. recommended by retailer. Mind you - first one failed, and when I took it back he was aghast, and basically told me it couldn't happen. Then he checked it.

What I have and what local retailer recommended. However this is NZ and I wonder if he gets some commission for Panasonic ... just me being cynical..

This is NZ and I think the US and Europe have more choice and better prices?

Pretty sure I’m gonna do it. In fact I’m gonna go play with one tomorrow (again). If I do it think I’ll buy from Adorama. For some reason they still aren’t charging sales tax. Not sure how they're getting away with that. B&H is now chsrg8ng sales tax based on the state they’re selling to.

I don’t have any UHS II cards and was wondering if I need them. Maybe for 4K video?

I have been using SanDisk 64GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I Memory Cards of which have now been discontinued.

I got mine from Adorama and a week after I bought it, the price dropped by $100. Adorama was kind enough to give me a store credit for the difference.

UHS-II cards have come down quite a bit in price, so I went ahead and went with them. Mostly speed is for 4K, I don't really do video (at this point) but it should help with clearing the buffer in bursts.
