Yeah I understand what you are saying, just work your way around it, pretend you are healing from shingles as I am when I took my red nite, and work your way through. Do not let cowards like that spoil your life.
Thanks Chris.

At the moment,as a NZer who thought this sort of thing could never happen in my country, I am stunned. I have had to turn off the news feed. as I feel so sick about what has occurred. https://www.newshub.co.nz/home.html What's going on? @RoseyPosey has bolted from the Canon M5 to the Panasonic G9?

Mar 18, 2019 16:29 | #127 I was all set to get a G9 but got scared of the MFT and low light issues and considerations. Seems I'm always without enough light and that tiny little sensor just scared me off.

I played with the G9 a few times at the camera store and frankly it's impressive. I'm struggling a little with the cost... $1,700 for the body and another $1,000 for the 12-60 2.8-4... Ugh. Sooner than later though I'm probably going to take the leap! But you chicken out dopey.

If I regularly shot moving subjects in low light I would probably get a camera with a bigger sensor with better low light characteristics. The G9 is a fantastic camera, but like everything, there are trade-offs and compromises. For my usage, the G9 with a few fast primes gives me all the low light performance I need, but there is no doubt that a good full frame sensor with fast primes would be even better.

From a Facebook group I belong to, a colleague bout an Olympus and talked about micro 4/3rds and in body stabilisation which I had read about. Did a bit of research, and was after an Olympus but couldn't get my hands on one to try, which is how I ended up with a G9. Next days off I'll shoot something with M 5 and see you there ![]() I really tried to keep the M50 bought after selling my M5 after buying my R. M5 and M50 are great little cameras, but I just kept coming back to Canon’s abysmal record in fast native glass for the system. I’ve got some great EF lenses that all worked on the M, but with adapter you are left with bigger/heavier lens that totally negates the benefit of the small body. Wayne...

It's just that MFT has other advantages that are more important to me. YMMV

Mar 18, 2019 18:45 | #134 LoneRider wrote in post #18831054 When the GX85 kit deal was dangled in front of me, I just couldn’t resist. Bailed on the M, sold my EF-M glass to return to MFT. Yeah, I did the same Except I did it way before wasting more money on bodies past the original M. Which I still have by the way. And the 22 pancake, 11-22, 18-55, 40 pancake and 55-250 STM on adapter. I wasted 6 years waiting for just some basic, native primes, no more. I looked at the GX85, but it's just too small for my hands, and I'm no giant. I much prefer a larger sized body, but paired with the excellent m4/3 primes. IBIS is a marvel, especially when you combine it with some fast primes, and some flash. It's a killer little system. No pissing around with adapters, and overweight and oversized lenses. Amazing lens options for both zoom and prime in MFT. My 25mm f/1.7 arrived yesterday, seriously considering the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 next. Life’s too short for slow lenses! For sure. I've got the PL15 & 25, Lumix 20 1.7 pancake, Lumix 42.5 with dual image stabilisation, and just yesterday picked up a Sigma 56 f/1.4
