Not sure what is funny there, there is just about zero risk buying from an Amazon seller. Amazon customer service is one of the best on the internet, for the buyer. I as a seller know this very well, any time any issue is raised by a buyer, I might as well count on doing a return, they are that strict. I guess I miss the humor, but please enlighten me.

I did something very similar earlier this morning. . Someone started a thread asking if any of us knew of a third party lens hood for the 135L. . I responded by posting a link to the one that I thought would best meet the OP's needs.

Nothing funny about that, either. . Or maybe you do think it's funny. . If so, please explain what is funny about it ..... perhaps there really is something funny and we are just missing it.

I too, am looking for an older DSLR. I totally agree with jaredcwood, here. The prices on most of the Amazon listing TS posted are ridiculous. Last summer, I bought my grandson an XSi/18-55 for $75. Fair price, I thought. For the $300-400 some of that stuff is going for, I'd expect at least T3i/18-55 STM at the lower end of the range; add a 55-250 IS at the top end.

If you look hard enough, you can find better deals, but they just aren't that common. The prices from amazon sellers are mirrored by the same asking prices on the forums. $75 for what you got is a steal, but that isn't the norm.

Ever considered E-Bay? I just checked 'sold' listings under "Canon XSi". Lots of 'steals' between $50 and $100. Some with, some without, a lens. $200+ for an XSi is way into ridiculous-land.

Of course, stuff is worth what people pay for it. If you can sell and XSi/18-55 for $400, by all means, do so. A fool and his money deserve to be parted.

Amazon customer service blows Ebay out of the water when it comes to buyer claim control. Also, I don't see $400 for an XSi and lens. There was one for $180, but it is now sold. You just keep an eye on that page, listings come and go pretty quickly. $135 is the cheapest on ebay right now with camera and lens, just one listing. Seems like decent seller, shape of camera isn't the best however. All others are at $180 or higher. So the Amazon used prices are right in line with Ebay and many sellers on the forum. You have to keep checking hourly or daily on Ebay (and Amazon) to catch the good deals. Also you have to be careful about which 18-55 lens, there are at least 6 different variants. If it isn't the STM version, it isn't really worth much at all, the STM lens is minimally $75 by itself, any other variant is worth $30-40.

I don't think the OP is calling out a body plus lens though, just a replacement body, so the body only prices of around $90-120 might be good enough.

I was just providing other outlets for the thread starter to watch as these older cameras rarely come up for sale any more (over a month ago on FM and POTN), everyone has upgraded already or they keep their cameras around for kids since they are about worthless. No need for people to get in here and reverse-price police.

The difference between Amazon and E-Bay is that E-Bay lets you search SOLD prices. What someone is asking for on E-Bay is mostly irrelevant. What items are actually SELLING for means way more to me. That is the basis of my statements above.

I've got an XTI w/18-55 and 4GB CF for $120 if anyone is still looking.
