Quite new to astroscapes.

Any good tutorials or tips for when shooting panoramas with wide angle lenses, like my Samyang (Rokinon) 14/2,8?

If you have PS it has panorama settings that works rather well . File>Automate>Photomerge

I prefer to do my panos with a normal lens or in a few instances my 85mm. Microsoft ICE stitches everything together perfectly.

The Samyang 14 is great for Milky Way panos. The tricks are to apply the lens profile correction in Lightroom, and then to overlap each shot by at least 30%... then Microsoft ICE does a good job of stitching the pano. And capture a wider view than you want so that you can crop the pano after stitching (especially at the top of the pano, where stars get stretched).

Here are some examples from me. The first is the Milky Way over the Parkes Radio Telescope, assembled from about 8 images taken after Moonrise (hence the blue sky); the second is a 4-shot pano with the Milky Way and some orange airglow; and the third is a whole-sky pano made up from about 30 images taken with the Samyang14.

Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks very much Ron! We are lucky in the Southern Hemisphere because we see the Galactic Centre near the zenith, which is always a spectactular view!
