Going to try to shoot some photos this weekend of my daughter's indoor track meet. I have not done indoor track before. I have also not been to this venue but from the photos that I have been able to find, it looks like artificial lighting with quite a few windows around the track. It will be a daytime meet so I will assume that there will be some natural light in addition to the artificial lighting. I have a Canon 70-300 f4-5.6 IS USM of my own and could borrow a friends Canon 70-200L f2.8 IS USM. Thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance

Got some photos. Fair for my first attempt. Some focus issues and the ISO of 4000 gave some noise. I was happy enough with the lighting.

next time go low.. sit on floor maybe? you will find most sports pictures look more dramatic from a lower position :)

Great suggestion! Thank you! I just bought a monopod to use for the next meet which is this Saturday. I have heard that this meet is much more crowded, so I don’t know if I will have as much freedom to move around but will see.

Had another indoor meet this weekend, again with a borrowed 70-200 f2.8 - what a great lens that is!
