Tom, you are right on the money.
As for being able to sell the prints, well, that would remain to be seen, but I feel like I could do it as sort of a side project with no deadlines or oversight, so it would happen whenever I had extra time.
The one thing I would try to avoid is to not use the logo company's names as part of the "main draw" of the image. . I mean, if the logo just happens to be there, somewhere in the print, then ok. . But if you are using a company's products or name brand recognition as part of what entices people to want the prints, then you are trying to directly profit by using their intellectual property, which is taboo.
If you use Facebook or other social media to promote these prints, then I would make sure that you don't write the names of the companies in the Facebook posts. . What I mean is that when posting to Facebook, you would not want to say anything like, "Come have yourself photographed in a Corvette!" . Instead, you would need to say something like, "Come have yourself photographed in a sports car!"
In the first example, you are directly using General Motor's intellectual property to get people to buy your product. . In the second example, you are not naming anyone's brand, nor violating anyone's intellectual property rights.
.
"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
