I have finally managed to finish my diffusion kit for the Yongnuo YNEX24. I did create another topic on this a while back but it went off topic like usual so hopefully this one won't, we'll see!
I will make these available in the selling forum shortly but this is just to explain a bit about them. Note that I do not seel these commercially, I make these as a hobby and make them available to others if they want and ask for them. I also put them on ebay now and again if I have some spare printing time to make some.
These are based on the version I made for the MT-24-EX with some fit adjustments and a few other changes/enhancements.
Regarding the flash unit itself compared to the MT24-EX I prefer it so far, bar a couple of niggles which I have managed to fix and I've mentioned below.
The flash system was all designed using a 3D CAD system and then 3D printed using various materials, providing a good fitting, professional looking set of diffusers, compared to home made paper/plastic ones etc.
The kit consists of the following:
2 x Diffuser bodies (Black).
2 x Diffuser body inserts (White) (glued in place) - Improved from previous versions these are now shinier so reflect light better.
2 x Straps (flexible) for attaching the bodies to the flash heads.
2 x Diffusion faces (White) (magnetic attachment) - The graduated face on these has been changed slightly due to the slightly different angle of the new diffuser bodies which puts the hot-spot in a different position.
2 x Blank frames which can be used to attach your own diffusion material - I don't recommend using additional diffusion material as all this does is reduce light, but I make these available anyway so give people the choice.
2 x Oval shaped covers (Black) (magnetic attachment). These provide an Oval shaped reflection in your subject.
2 x Diffuser extensions (White). These can be used to add more diffusion but make it trickier to get the camera in position because they protrude a lot more. These can be attached to the back of the diffuser body when not in use.
1 x Box to hold 6 x face attachments to keep them safe.
2 x Flash mounts - These were adjustable on the MT-24EX version but I found that I never adjusted them once I have them at the correct angle, so I made fixed ones at the correct angle to start with. You can tilt/spin the flash heads anyway.
4 x Anti-rotate ring attachments - One of the niggles with the Yongnuo is that the flash mount ring that clips onto the adaptor rings, spin because it does not grip well enough so, I made an adaptor for each ring which is tightened onto the lens with the metal ring and it has notches in it which the flash mount ring clicks into, this stops the flash mount ring rotating when you don't want it to.
1 x Lens cap. This is another niggle of the Yongnuo, there is no lens cap included and there are no standard size lens caps that fit, so I made one out of flexible material that fits onto the front of the flash mount ring. I did this rather than making a cap for each sized metal ring.
Overall diffusion is as good as the MT24 version but with much brighter focusing lights you can illuminate the subject much easier through the diffuser face.
