This one is for Lev:

I've just processed this one of a Black Kite from Ngorongoro, Tanzania. Just found a resonable bunch of in flight shots I didn't think I had.

Have breakfast and/or lunch in the crater at the picnic site. Word of warning though... do not bring food outside of your safari truck. These guys have razor sharp talons and haunt this place trying to steal food right out of peoples hands. People have been badly injured.

On the other hand, do bring a 300 or 400mm lens. :D

I walked right up to where 3 of them were watching the site from the rocks. One swept in and nearly hit me. I could feel the down-draught from its wings. Very cool.

The water pool there also is a haven to Herons and Storks. A pride of Lions lives in the reed beds nearby. They only come out every few days to kill a Buffalo.

Final word of advice: bring light waterproofs. The creater and the east side of the mountain get more rain than the rest of Northern Tanzania. It's pretty regular. I brought a large plastic bag which doubled as a dust cover and rain protection for camera/lens (cut a corner from the bag and stick end of lens through).

Will 500 do?;)

Seriously tho', how many of your shots were at your longest range?
I ask because it was quite a difficult choice to take 100-400 (light)
or the 500 (heavy but, well....its a 500 right:rolleyes: :D )
