Used to have a mismatch of lighting I'd bout over the past 20 years, some Yongnuo speedlites, some triggers which worked with some of the flashes, some other triggers that did work with them, some triggets that hardly gad any function and only worked up to 10 yards, some older Canon speedlites that didn't talk to any of them, so they had some transmitters/receivers added to them to make them work etc etc....

I've chopped it all in for some Godox speedlites, and an Xpro1 controller, such a good move, so simple, everything works, everything talks to each other, the controls are easy, the controller is just a joy, so little stuff compared to what I had before, it all just works, just so happy :) :)

I have done the same thing, but do have a couple of yongnuo devices for remote shutter control. I have more light than skill now so I just need to learn to use it all. :)

Same, but I've gotten mine under the adorama Flashpoint brand and have abandoned the speedlight category in favor of the eVOLV/AD200 lights.

I went from Streaklights to replace my SB800 and a Speedotron Explore1500; to Streaklight TTLs; to finally a single Xplor600, and two eVOLVs with the twin bracket. Still have the Streaklights in the event I need a bash or rim light.

Combined with the XPro the whole setup is amazing in terms of setup speed, working efficiency and flexibility.

Yep, same here, although I've kept the older strobes, and some RF603 for remote camera triggers.. but I am glad I've made the switch, less stuff to schlep around.

100% Godox here, too. 3 AD200s, an AD600 and a couple of 685 Speedlights. Had it all for a few months now, and still can't believe how well it all works together.

Yeah, I'm used to new things not working, like the new PC I had custom built to run photoshop, then spent the weekend making it work ( internal USB cables not connected, wrong software for the graphics card, card reader not working etc) so I'm extremely suspicious that Godox stuff, just, works! No need for the manual either, just makes sense...

The firmware updates are a pain however, it is difficult to know what is being addressed, and what units need updating in unison with other units.

I had the same Elinchroms for as many as 20years. New ones too. All compatible. Adapters, mounts, Wi-Fi control. Newer ones full control. Firmware updates is not too bad. USB xmitter on the laptop/PC and anything in range gets fed.

It is super convenient. You will be very happy.

I am enjoying Godox gear as well with one exception......maybe people here can help.

Has anyone figured out a workaround for the goofy Godox hotshoe? It doesn't mount in the standard cold shoe mount on my softbox brackets. I've already broken one and had to replace it. I'm sure others have had this issue.

I've got one of these. Anyone know if there's a replacement cold shoe out there that plays well with the Godox hot shoe?
