Sold the 24-105 v1 in anticipation of a better v2.....won't do that again(sell something based on rumours). Had the 24-70 2.8 II and didn't replace the 24-105 v1. Just use the 24-70 II more.

txsizzler Senior Member More info | Mar 04, 2018 19:30 | #19 I replaced mine with the 24-70 f/2.8 L II lens. Remarkable upgrade in IQ, but with the added cost of weight (not to mention $$$), and lack of IS. Love the colors/contrast, and incredible sharpness of the 24-70!

(2 edits in all) | Mar 07, 2018 06:09 | #20 Surely the biggest issue when replacing any 24-105 with any 24-70 is the loss of the 70-105mm range! For me, that's essential in an everyday or travel lens, even though I have a 70-200, as it means fewer lens changes. I tried a 24-70 and found the need to change lenses just to get to say 100mm really annoying. For most travel photography, especially in a city, I can leave the 70-200 behind. I can also shoot portraits at 105mm. Nigel Puttick
