He's worked very hard, the minors are a tough gig and blessed to have been rule 5'd by the Guardians - they're a great organization.
I brought a 70-200mm into Detroit, but had to go to customer service and beg - he didn't play that game. The issue is if they say no, you need put the gear in the car (if you brought one). Also, I'm not a big fan of shooting through netting if I'm not right next to it (didn't get any front row seats).
I understand. You would think you would get some kind of privilege because your son was playing. I remember back around 2010 I brought my 70-300 to Fenway Park and was not questioned. I don't know what their policy was at the time. I looked up their policy a few years ago and it was spelled out very clearly. I totally agree about shooting through the netting.
