When the US women beat the Canadian women via the hockey shootout, as the selfies and the group photo with flags was being taken the thought occurred to me that it would have been a nice gesture of sportmanship for the US team to have gone over to the Canandian team to compliment them on a valiant effort.

Having played competitive sports all throughout H.S and most of college, the last thing I wanted to do was have someone from the winning team come over and be patronizing. I wanted to win and was pi$$ed when we lost. The only reason I shook hands is that the coach made us. Now playing for fun is a totally different thing.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Getting trounced is one thing, losing via a shootout seems like something not reflective of 'team performance', but of 'individual' performance (the shooter of the moment, the goalie), and less of a 'we beat you' and more of a 'we got lucky first'. In that setting it would seem that two EQUALS are both congratulating each other on getting to the final game and losing by individual effort not team play.

I like what I see at the end of a NBA game...guys know each other and say hi and the 'nice game' spirit is clearly seen
