I need help...

Hi,

I just bought the godox x1t-c together with one xtr16 receiver for my godox dp 400 watts strobe series 1... Initially, they work well in triggering the strobes.

However, I can't adjust the strobe power using the x1t-c. I have to turn the power output dial of the strobe to set it. When I am trying to attempt, the xtr16 receiver is responding but the strobe stays on its setting.

Is there something I am missing here? I bought them all brand new including the strobes...

DP Series 1 have 5.0 to 7.0 stepless increments. Are the trigger and receiver compatible with the strobe? Hope you can me guys.

I am not 100 percent confident there is no way to use just the x series transmitter.

But if you have a need, you could control the power with the ft16 and fire the strobe with the x series.

After changing the power on the x1 unit, did you try pressing the test button to send it? That might be needed?

Nope, not really. That's why they came out with the DP II series; so they could build in the X receiver and get power control to work. If you can exchange the DP400 for a DP400II, that would probably be your best bet. Then you wouldn't need the XTR16, either.

At this point, Godox has only Mk-II updated the QT, QS, DP, GS, and SK series strobes.

There has always existed an issue with the X1T-c and the XTR-16 receivers and it doesn't seem they've fixed the issues with firmware updates. The Nikon version of the X1T does not have the issues so the problem is not with the XTR-16 receivers or the flash units they are attached to but lies in the Canon version of the X1T transmitter. What I did to work around it was to use an XT-16 transmitter in the hot shoe of X1T-c to run all the flash units with XTR-16 receivers.

Wasn’t there a Godox chart showing what works with what..? It was posted somewhere here I think. Maybe it needs updating.

Again, I think you have to make the changes to the group holding the strobe(s), then hit the test button to send them. It is a pain, but it does work, so that you can remotely modify them. The XPro, I believe, does this better.
