Have not seen/heard anything like that - but wouldn't surprise me, Nikon has had one for a while too!

When Canon make announcements, Google hears them. Google has not heard any RF 105 announcement.
There are rumours, along with rumours of many other RF lenses and the now obviously false 1DS4 rumour.

If you have no intention of going R mounts...this is a great great lens to have in the bag. I was beyond impressed. I would choose it over my 85 art

In the end, R mounts and bodies are going to take over so Im not doing a thing until next release

Question ... do you think your customers for the average size they print, would notice much difference between this 105mm and say the best 85mm, 135mm or 200 end of the 70-200mm?

Another thought .. if a new 135mm was released, and at least close to the quality of this 105's image look, would you go for the 105 or the 135 ?

I saw Jared Polin's review of the Sigma vs. Nikon 105mm lenses. It raised a question that may matter more to Nikon owners. I shoot Canon and noticed the EOS R greatly improved using the 85mm 1.2 mk ii. Whereas Polin said the Sigma seemed to focus better than the Nikon 105 for him, I was curious if the Z7 Nikon mirrorless may equalize the Nikon lens compared to the Sigma. Because the Nikon 105mm is a much more manageable size to fit into a bag..

I have a 135L and its great

Its not as goos as Sigmas 135

My problem with the 200 F2.0 is distance. Im too far from subject and Its not a lens that can be easily used inside

The 85 can be used inside as can the 105 but in tighter places even the 105 is long. I think the 105 is a better lens that the 85 art and if it was available when I was looking at the 85, i would have choose the 105 instead....Bokeh is far better wide open in my opinion

Outside I think the 105 is perfect. I dont have to be so far back that I need a bullhorn to speak to subjects and the only thing that the 105 lacks over a 200 F/2.0 is that the 200 will pull the background closer to subject with telephoto compression. However, I feel the Bokeh is non distinguishable

If you want best of both worlds inside and out I think the 105 is perfect

If your strictly outside and can afford the $$$$....nothing is better than a 200L

Inside recitals = 200L king

I use mine for baseball mostly these days and any portraits it's a good strong lens to use. BUT... I'm about to swap to the sony 400 2.8 and 70-200 combo over a 200L.
