A note of caution: Just because you are at the hard end of rotation for the lens, it doesn't mean that it is focused at infinity. You can easily be past infinity and the results would be OOF. A mistake that is easy to do with MF lenses.

However fast UWA can still be problematic is you are trying to focus on very close objects. So it depends how near the object was that you were focusing on with the UWA. At some point though like past ten feet out, the DOF starts to go to infinity with that lens. One way to double check focus peaking with the same lens is to focus using the peaking feature, then zoom in 5x to check the magnified view to see if it still looks good, or go the other way, get critical focus on the object, then zoom out and activate peaking to see what is highlighted. I think that's what's tripping me up. I'm used to f/1.4 and f/1.2 lenses, focusing wide open, then adjusting aperture as needed for exposure. Not used to having so much in focus - very nice problem to have MakisM1 wrote in post #18925824 ![]() A note of caution: Just because you are at the hard end of rotation for the lens, it doesn't mean that it is focused at infinity. That used to be an issue with the kit lens, I have to admit that didn't actually occur to me with this lens.

Taken through a window, the pic does not do justice to that gorgeous creature (and I'm not a big dog guy.) Sep 24, 2019 12:33 | #575 I bought the M50 to have something smaller than my 7D to take with me out on the bike. Here's a couple shots from it's first trip to one of our groups Bike Night.
