See, my M50 even has great eye AF, the R5 has nothing on this camera! lol :)

Sturgeon Moon as seen from CO. Taken with full auto focus using the Sigma 150-600C + Canon 1.4x III. The manual focus on the C is a PIA compared to the 100-400II.

I'll give that a try. My issue is mostly that the focus ring on the C is a lot more stiff compared to the 100-400, and even though it's tripod mounted, things start to get jerky in the viewfinder or rear LCD trying to make fine tune adjustments.

And admittedly, I was playing around with the lens and extender combo to see just how well if would AF. :-)

I never AF my moon shots, but then I again I also never use a tripod, so you might take what I say with a grain of salt. :)

I have run the Sigma with stacked TCs in the past this way.

One of the shots I was happy with....

Sigma 150-600, 2x III, 5D4

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV • 1/640 • f/13 • ISO 3200

M50, same set up, this time I left the color in the image because sometimes it's nice to show that the moon actually has some color to it.

Swainson's Hawk visiting my backyard for the 2nd consecutive day. Today I happened to be sitting on the back deck with the camera close at hand. Hoping it has chosen to patrol the open space behind the house for a bit of time before it heads off to South America.

Thanks! In fact I think we have (had?) them as weeds in our garden. We call them “Wild carrot”. I did not know that they will get those pretty flowers the second year, we have always weeded them before that it seems :-)
