I feel lonesome.

It's a beautiful, dramatic scene, properly exposed, good color balance, good lighting, excellent composition (the horizon is a little too centered vertically), and all it needs is a person to give it scale and more interest - and possibly set a mood.

Makes me want to stay for a sunset ...
Were you relaxed after being there?

Very nice.

Hey llaamabo, Something about being there just soothes my soul. Actually calms me. Thanks for the nice words.

What do I feel? I feel I want to grab your camera and give it's sensor a bloody good scrubbing!! :-) Apart from that, the votes are all in: we want to see a sunset image from the same location...with people too! :-)

Meatyo, why do you want to give my sensor a good scrub??Beach weather?
Well I did my best to give everything a good wipe down after that day. Oh man, it was so windy that day too, and very fine sand BLOWING everywhere. I did a sensor cleaning too.First time. But i did manage to make the inside of my view finder all fuzzy. Crap!!! That I do need help on. Picture with people coming up. But I didn't stay for sunset that day, TO COLD and WINDY. Well good to hear from you. Thanks again.

I like it better without the people. But then I like to go to beaches that do not have other people on them. Nothing more disappointing than a crowded beach...

Anyway, as has been said before, better light (early or late in the day) would be better.

The whole picture looks really soft too. Nothing is sharp. Also, as was said, you can see evidence of dust on your sensor. One example is the grey spot just left of dead center. You can see it on both shots. If you want to see the dust on your sensor, take a picture of a white wall with your aper. stopped down to f 22. Search these forums to find out how to celan your sensor and do it carefully. Reshoot the white wall to see if it is clean.

So, clean your sensor, go back to the same spot at sunrise or sunset, use a tripod, and you should come back with a winner. :>;)

I us P mode but i get nervous to use unfamiliar settings. Newbie Alert :)

Right - I was thinking more of a solitary figure standing in the wet sand about 1/3 of the way in from the left.
