Not sure if I'm in the right forum here, but I have a problem with Lightroom. It quits as I try to open it and gives yjois message: "LR encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quite. LR will attempt to fix the problem the next time it launches."
Unfortunately, it doesn't fix the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Many thanks. I'll do that. Wasn't sure where to post. Thanks again

Yes deleting the Previews Cache will solve the issue. As was pointed out, make sure you delete My catalogue name Previews.LRDATA which is a folder tree, and not My catalogue name.LRCAT which is the actual catalogue file. There is only one other thing it might be useful to know, and that is that by deleting all of your preview files you will go back to a stage where Lr has no previews, so when you open a folder or collection in grid view, you will initially see all of the original camera generated previews. You will need to wait for Lr to generate it's own previews again. This can take quite a while if you have a lot of images to show. So don't worry and think that you have lost all of your edits.
