I have all the ones in my sig, they all work great, except the 100L, which is iffy to say the least.

Did you try it with the IS off on the lens? I read somewhere it could do something making it act erratically with hybrid IS lenses. I have the 100L also so I'll be testing it .... as soon as my batteries are charged lol

What happens was that I put it on (IS on), and it won't focus, like I had it on manual focus. I press shutter a couple of times, nothing.

Then all of the sudden it works, like it took time to make a connection….I turn the camera off and on again, then it wouldn't work.

I fiddle with the IS, i fiddle with the focus distance switches, nothing happens. One time when I fiddle with the IS button, it made it focus but that could be just timing.

I dunno, it works sometimes, it doesn't work other times, it's just not something i can rely on with it. It matters not because I use the 100L as a macro lens, aka manual anyway.

OK I just tested the 70-200 2.8 II so far, let's just say that with eye AF and continuous hi it will NOT track, the first picture is in focus and it never refocused from there. Metabones V with latest (58) firmware. Little disappointed right now

I think it’s quite well documented that focus isn’t that great with the 70 to 200

focus should be ok, just not great. I think it's possible that shooting mode is not set to low? Adapted lenses only focus continuous low, and no faster, 3fps. So you either pump the AF or shoot continuous low. I tend to pump the AF if ever adapting.... if ever....

And at was a on Hi and Hi+ lol
Other than that so far 24-70 II and 70-200 II seem to work well in single frame as long as your subject isn't moving too much

Yeah you'll have to shoot at low burst rate to get AF tracking while bursting.

I've been down this route before... MC-11 worked better for me than the MBV. Still doesn't track.

The native 70-200 isn't as good as the mk2 but let me tell you it tracks amazing.

Still waiting to get a call from my friend...he mentioned I'll be getting an A7iii on the first shipment.

I think the 70-200 f/2.8ISmk2 will be adequate for my portrait application using an MC-11 adapted to the sony. I dont feel like forking out the dough for a GM 70-200 f/2.8 since I still shoot Canon too.

I was wondering if anyone had an experience with the Sony A7III or even A9 since it uses the same AF system in relation to the Canon 5DMKIV? How well does it AF moving subjects, as well as low light?

I would be using native Sony glasses, as I have tried adapter rings before but it was not reliable enough.

Low light works well, tracking subject works good on adapted glass UNLESS you're taking high FPS lol
What I love compared to my 5D4 is the fact that the "focusable" area is 93% of the sensor, I'm not limited to the (much) smaller focus area the 5D4 offers, oh and metering linked to AF point like the 1D series that Canon just won't put in the 5D because "it's not a pro body" well, it's awesome to have that back :)
