TRABANT - The minimalist standard car of former East Germany.

Is she still road worthy these days?

Yes, 40+ years isn't an age for a car. Not mine, but I had noticed it over the past months and knew where to find it for this week's photo.

TRABANT - The minimalist standard car of former East Germany.

Also nicknamed Rennpappe (cardboard racer) or Gehhilfe (walking aid)

Delivery time could easily be 10 years from the date of order -?

I just saw a documentary on the Trabant..
Basically the only car you could get in East Germany at the time..

Monte Carlo, here we come! My daughters favorite class in middle school was woodshop, And the year end project was designing and carving out a dragster and racing them using CO2 pellets. This one came in second.

Checking parked cars on a walk today, I found some details that are not standard equipment.
