A couple of windmill shots, handheld. I have not purchased a tripod yet. Thoughts for improvement?

I see that you followed the rule of thirds on the close-up, at least on the x-dimension. However, you have the windmill "facing" out the short edge of the image. A slightly more pleasing composition would be to have it face toward the middle. I think you could give the subject more prominence, i.e., crop it more.

The 3rd one is the best by far. The second one I find the Limb in the middle of the shot to be distracting and not adding anything. But that is just IMHO.
