I got a new (used) lens!!!

I'm so excited, I've been looking for a 35mm lens. I looked at the Sigma and Canon but after reading many, many reviews, decided to try to find a good used Canon 35mm L lens. Well, lucky me, someone was selling all their equipment and had a almost new Canon 35mm f1.4L lens for sale. I contacted him and bought it for $900 (candian). Now I need to get a good filter for it. What would you suggest without braking the bank. there was a lens hood included but I'm so paranoid, I just feel better if it had a protective filter. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You don't want to get cheap filters, because they can introduce IQ issues with your photos, making you think it is the lens or body or AF that is to blame.

You will definitely enjoy your 35mm prime! I have the 35mm 1.4 Sigma Art and it is ridiculously amazing

I'm going to Banff Alberta in May with my daughter to do hiking and photography. I'll post some pictures when I get back.
