Im looking at trying out a remote camera setup over the next couple of events. Anyone on here got any experience using them or any tips?

Im going to be using a Canon 7D and a 24-105L along with pocketwizards to trigger it from my main camera.

Canon 5D3, Canon 7D, Canon 550D, Canon 135L, Canon 100-400L II IS USM, Canon 24-105L, Canon 70-200L f2.8, Canon 50mm f1.8.

I do something similar in that I mount the camera on a tripod about 5 to 8 feet from a suet feeder. I trigger my shutter using a Satechi product which uses "radio" as opposed to line of sight. It works well, even at approximately 100 feet from the house.

If you are doing something similar makes sure you put the camera in a zip lock bag or similar with a hole for the lens. The birds love to sit on anything that is handy. Even penguins do "selfies", see https://www.washingtonpost.com …e/?utm_term=.d3783934d9c6 (external link).
