Just got this lens delivered and couldn't resist taking some initial test shots - all at wide-open aperture, of course. Just straight conversions to JPG, only lens profile applied in PS.

Looks VERY sharp throughout the frame, even at f2.8.

First, at 16mm and then, 35mm

Debated hard before returning the lens. It was fantastic, but couldn't justify keeping a lens this expensive when I don't shoot ultra wide very often.

Not sure why this thread is moving so slowly! I'd post these in the A7rIII thread, but it seems I'm the only one interested in posting over there as well. :p

I've been playing with the 16-35 GM for a week or so now and it definitely seems to live up to expectations. Right now, my main objective is to determine if the lens can replace both my Canon 16-35L F/4 IS and my Sigma 24-35 F/2 Art. Those have been my two primary travel lenses for a while now, so it would be wonderful if the 16-35 GM is up to the task. So far, I'm perfectly confident that it can take the place of my Canon 16-35. However, I'm new to the 2.8 zoom range, so I'm not 100% sold on the wide-open aesthetic as compared to the Sigma F/2 Art.
