Lexar 64gb CF cards out of stock everywhere? Is it discontinued?

I've had orders in at Adorama and B&H for the Lexar 1066x 64gb CF cards for weeks now and they are still out of stock. Are these being discontinued?

If so, what options do I have to get the fastest write speed to my 5d mk IV?

I believe that Kingston has dropped CF cards from the marketplace as well. See https://www.kingston.c​om/us/flash and you will note there are no CF cards listed. Sandisk might be your best bet. See https://www.amazon.com …0116bd2d8&pf_rd​_i=1197392.

Ugh.... So San Disk is all we have left? I'll look up some Extreme Pro cards today....

Not sure about ordering cards from Amazon - lots of counterfeit ones out there. I'll buy SanDisk Extreme Pro right from their website to be safe.

Micron sold off the Lexar brand to a Chinese company called Longsys. You'll still be seeing Lexar cards for sale, but they are not going to be coming from Micron fabs.

So far, with respect to the Longsys, I have not seen evidence that CF cards are in their product line. See http://www.longsys.com​/products/?type=produc​t.

My local staples has a bunch of lexar sd cards in stock. Some of the packaging says 2016/2017 and still lists only micron- made in korea. Some of the cards also say longsys/micron but have 2017 date. I assume the 2016 cards are still safe to buy?

If I needed a CF card, and the price was good, I'd buy either. Longsys announced the acquisition of Lexar in late August 2017 so may have been simply packaging up old Lexar made stock. In addition, even if you are buying Longsys China manufactured cards I doubt I would have any concern. Longsys is a major manufacturer and has been around for almost 20 years.

Even the longsys/micron cards had "made in korea" sticker I noticed when I picked a card up today.

Lexar stated on August 28, 2017 that Longsys had acquired the Lexar trademark and will begin selling current and future products under the Lexar brand. As I said previously, I would suspect that this was "old" stock actually made by Lexar/Micron and acquired during the acquisition of Lexar by Longsys. But I suspect that these will disappear from the marketplace as time goes on and Longsys can feed the pipeline with their own manufactured product.

I have been trying to get an answer from our Purchasing Department for weeks - it's all incredibly vague, but I think that's because the supplier is fudging around the ETA........he's saying we'll maybe get something from Lexar this month or next. But there is no clarification as to what exactly the 'something' might be!
