A few words on why you have chosen this tutorial would be helpful.

The web is awash with layer tutorials - some goo, some bad, some indifferent and confusing. Unless you think this particular tutorial offers something better for beginners, it is probably not worth mentioning.

Ummm, unless he made it and is doing some self promotion.

Seems to be a lot of that lately.

Video is made by the OP. Self promotion is involved.
Video is over 15 minutes long and free.
The description in the first post is accurate IMHO.
OP (Vic) has made many videos and posted on POTN. I can't see a downside, only an upside!

Anyone wanting to learn Photoshop, I would recommend Vic's vids.

Blake Rudis is in the middle of delivering a 20 day Photoshop BootCamp at CreativeLive. There are daily sessions streamed each weekday you can watch for free. To purchase the entire set of is $149.

As others have said, there are worlds of free videos on Lr Classic and Ps 2017 on Youtube.

Vic is a really nice guy and has been very helpful to others here on the forum. . He makes these videos regularly and some of us have enjoyed them and found them to be helpful.

I have trouble understanding why you posted with strong critical words. . Perhaps you did not realize that Vic makes these himself? . I suppose he could have made that clearer by saying so in the initial post.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Could you provide a direct link to this free live stream?

I have Googled my little heart out and searched the Creative Live website from end to end, and cannot seem to find out what to click on to get the free live streaming of PS Boot Camp to work.

I guess I don't understand why you would even question why he posted it. Sure, there are tons of 'how to' videos out there......so what. If the guy made this and thinks it might be of help to someone, then good on him. Why would you tell him it's not worth posting it unless he provides a valid reason to you?

If you watched it and feel it is poorly done or you have some other reason to offer a critique, great. Otherwise, I might say the same thing to you in this case, and that is your comments are "probably not worth mentioning.".

Remember what the DorMouse said.....feed your head.

Hi Martin,
You are right, I should start the description by saying: "I did this video because..." or something similar.
I did it in my first few videos, but I was assuming that most people knew about it.
Thank you for the head up

You're welcome Justin. When I made my original comment, I did not know you were a regular poster of tutes. New member would not either so it is always a good idea to give a short preamble.

Yes, it is indeed self promotion, and you know how much money I make making these videos?
A big zero, but maybe in three or four years I will make enough for a couple a beers per month with my friends who appreciate my videos.
Oh, and I can tell you that it does take a huge amount of time to make them

I guess I'm not getting any of this garbage.
Who the hell gave you the right to pick apart, criticize, and judge another's motives?
Simple videos? Self-promotion?
Who cares. There is a simple solution that will cost you absolutely nothing nor a second of your time.
Don't like the videos? Don't watch them!
Bothered by the promotion? Don't respond to it.
I might point out that similarly, people don't care about your opinions either.

As they say...
Move along. Nothing for you to see here.

(Good luck you you, Vic. Thee's a minefield of small-minded busy bodies out there. You'll need it)
