:D I hardly watch those dramas , or rather any TV programs for that matter.
But whenever I do on a rare occasion, I found few typical characteristics
in such dramas (or seasons)
- There would be some women as Manager etc and they are overly rude, cruel and treat other women(mostly) and men under them horribly
- These shout at others and insult them.
- The rest of the women are too soft and gentle and cry on every single occasion.
- Everybody too much overreacting.

The other variety shows
- I wonder why & how they all look so much same
- People talking there can talk about almost anything about the other person seating next to them and the other person also reacts. Sometimes these are too personal remarks or talk about their figure etc in case of girls.
- Almost always they bring a photo of a another person / guest from childhood or from some embarrassing situation and talk about it for lot of time.
- They EAT and EAT and travel to EAT.
- They EAT the food when it it real HOT. There face shows that their mouth is burning, but in few seconds they manage to say OOOOOIIIIISHIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.....
- They COOK.

The 3rd type of programs are discussions and pretend dramas

One day I turned on the TV in the morning 6:30AM to see if there is any exercise related program or not. And on one channel I found somebody pouring beer on a gas. On other channel somebody showing how to cook something of beef. third channel showed a discussion about some topic. The forth channel a showed a trip to some location, I was sure that they will enter a restaurant after that!!! finally I turned off the TV.

:lol::lol::lol:

All the above exquisite observations from Swapnali are the reasons I very rarely watch TV anymore.

Life's just not long enough......
......and there's far too much to photograph!

Has anyone ever seen Hard Gay Razor Ramon (HG)??
At least I think that's his name. Most things on TV pale in comparison to him.
However, there are some gems - Pan Kun and James is a classic!!

Tony - cheers for the advice!

Swapnali: very nice critique. I don't understand enough Japanese to know how true it all is, but I've seen enough to imagine. "Tony, unemployed but not yet homeless" business cards coming soon....

Alessandro: sorry, no other suggestions from me. When I want Japanese photography, I go to the newsagent or bookstore. I realise that doesn't help much if you're in Italy... :_(.

We should take CustomMinds up on the offer next time we're putting together an outing. Great :-).

Cheers all, Tony

Sorry Alessandro - I don't know of any, but if I hear of something I'll let you know.

Hello Swapnali/Tony and All -
Well, the status of my 5D Mark II went from "Backordered" to "In Process" and my credit card shows the charge as "Pending" so that means that shipping must be momentary. $2165.66 from the Military Exchange Catalog, no tax, shipping free. It was worth the wait (fingers crossed) and I already have the Magic Lantern Guide for the camera in anticipation. Love my 5D and not sure what I will do with it (my son has ideas though...).
Tony and I have offlined, thinking of another Japan get together. He mentioned Nokogiriyama in Chiba, I mentioned Kamakura/Kita Kamakura. Open to any and all suggestions for location/dates. Hydrangeas and Irises in bloom now. Will post photos soon.
Cheers,
John

I don't know if anyone has ever been down south to Kumamoto, but if you do, there's a chain of islands called Amakusa starting about an hour and a half drive south of the city.
These islands are connected by 5 big bridges and the area is really beautiful.
All around the islands you can go on dolphin and whale watching tours, and in Ushibuka (the southernmost tip) sea turtles come up onto the white sand beaches to lay their eggs.
If you go by boat into the East China Sea, you can see tropical fish and reefs etc.
The weekend before last we went to Matsushima, which is the island closest to Kumamoto City, for an onsen.
The couple of pictures here don't do the area justice, but you ever come down here, you should try to get to Amakusa.
(Also, the place has a very sad history. This is where hundreds of Christians were killed and crucified on the beaches, so there are monuments all over).

[Insert second image of non-Brits searching Google Images for pics of Blackpool....and then also dying laughing.]
