I don't recall seeing this species posted on the forum before, so I searched and found one entry from eight years ago. Unlike the various races of the Dark-eyed Junco, the Yellow-eyed is a separate species. It prefers a mountainous habitat, is predominantly a Mexican bird, and appears in the States only in SE Arizona and a little bit of SW New Mexico.

Well, it certainly would be a rarity here; except these were, in fact, taken in SE AZ. But, thanks for the cool capture part; I appreciate it!
