I love it. Moved Dehaze and Color profiles to the top of the page. Big improvement in the Adobe profiles.

Moving Color Profiles to the Top alone may get me to subscribe.

Well I wouldn't hold my breath. I'm predict LR6 standalone will die sometime this year just like PS did. The LR6 update in December of 2017 was the last one.

I didn't use the brush and graduated filters much with LR6. I usually went to PS for that. With LR7 I am using those features quite a bit now. I think there were some improvements to them with LR7's release.

7.1 released the New Intelligent Auto Settings, powered by Adobe’s Sensei. I now have that auto apply at import and tweak if needed.

7.2 I believe Adobe added Range Masking.

I have heard so much about DXO Prime I decided to test Photolab to use as a plugin type thingy. Prime is very impressive but for another $200. Ouch. It was fast to export to PL but painfully slow to come back. By the time it comes back I can tame the NR and Masking and do this if I need to. I still prefer LR's export options than trying it decide the best USM settings.

I found this yesterday for $13.99. Too bad DXO didn't make a plugin for LR. People would pay $50 - $70 for it.

I think the DxO Photolab release with integrated new Nik Collection should be something to look at. It is supposed to be out this summer. But as far as I know, it will not have any sort of DAM, just a browser.

I'm hanging onto LR6 standalone until a new camera forces me to "upgrade" to their subscription gulag.

AFAIK, C1P is still sold as a perpetual license. I don't like subscription software in general because it's a never-ending cost and can be taken away from the user at the whim of the publisher.

Do you really think a publisher would do that on a whim? Especially one as big as Adobe? They would have a class action lawsuit if people where not refunded. Only way out of that would be to declare bankruptcy. .

The subscription software is downloaded and used on the desktop just like standalone. You enter a key code for Standalone and that software communicates with the publisher for updates, etc. Do you think C1 or any other publishers couldn't disable your software on a whim? Only takes one download.

Companies kill products all the time. The difference with a subscription is that the user has nothing to show for all the money spent if that times come. It's the equivalent of being a month-to-month renter. 30 days notice and you're out on your rear. If a company discontinues a product you bought under a perpetual license, you still have your product and can continue to use it.

I'm not worried about it and I paid for the while year. Why would they do that? That is their bread and butter. Subscription has been around for a while now with multiple programs. Only Elements is stand alone for the forceable future. I can still use LR and the DAM and everything else except the Develop Module, and Maps if I drop the subscription. I still have LR6 and PS key codes. There is always other software out there. If I ever drop Adobe some day I doubt I'll go back to older versions.

I've never cared what anyone uses. I like the product so I'm going to use it. I'm not going worry about what could happen someday. I don't buy the Adobe boogeyman stories. Not saying you are promoting that. Some of the stuff I read in cyberspace since last October was so ridiculous it was hard to believe. Whatever works best for you.
